Reflect
Do you ever feel swept away with the tide of daily life? Think of the words of Psalm 139:3, “You sift through my travels and my rest; with all my ways you are familiar.”
Pray
God, you are there in struggle,
and so I can let go of my anger and frustration
that I’m doing soulless tasks alone, without support.
Paying bills.
Medical appointments.
Being put on hold, again.
All the disconnections can feel so empty.
But you are there, ever holy!
In those moments my life feels drained of all that is sacred,
but all of it is sacred with you there.
While filling the gas tank, I notice the clouds in blue sky.
How wispy they are, traveling the same direction as me.
Act
Instead of fighting the mundane and boring today, flip it and see if you can find something sacred in the act—a deeper connection lurking underneath. If you discover something unexpected in the process, journal about it to nurture this type of thinking.
