Reflect
There are many women who suffer silently over the loss of a child through illness, accident, miscarriage, or abortion. They may stay silent long after the event has passed yet they still grieve. We may know such women but we don’t know what to say and so we just encourage them to get on with their lives.
Pray
Lord, please comfort the women in my life
who have suffered the loss of a child.
You also grieve over their tragic losses.
Help them feel your presence
and reassure them that their child has gone before them
to prepare a place.
Act
If you are one of the “silent sisterhood,” share your grief with God, perhaps by writing a letter to God and one to the child you lost. If you know other recent members of the “silent sisterhood,” reach out to them, letting your own experience be a reassurance to them that they too, can heal.
