God is creating, quite literally, some friends for Godself! Jesus became the full representation of one who accepted and lived that friendship. In fact, he never seemed to doubt it. That must be at the core of our imitation of Jesus. (p. 53)
• Write down your definition of friendship. Can you imagine having this kind of relationship with God? What attitudes or perspectives would need to change for you to accept such a friendship?
• Think back on the story of Jesus in the Gospels. What aspects of friendship come to mind in your memories of Jesus’s relationship with God?
• If God desires friends, how does this change your outlook on your fellow creatures?
