Reflect
Sometimes compassion for those we love best gets lost in an avalanche of daily trivia. We fail to appreciate what others do for us, because they do it so often. We may not see their pain because we’ve grown accustomed to it. Yet the three parables of Luke 15 show God searching for what is lost, loving extravagantly despite the indifference or bad behavior of those God seeks. Not a bad model for us…
Pray
Gracious God,
Sometimes I get so
Caught up in my own
Actions and thoughts,
I fail to see those closest to me.
Attune me again, please.

Remember in detail: what was the most compassionate thing anyone ever did for you?
