Reflect
Too often in this “connected” world, many of us feel isolated, disconnected, alone. The people around us seem to be living their best life, without a care: surrounded by friends, greeted by neighbors, noticed by everyone while we feel unseen, forgotten. But we know, even if the world has forgotten us, there is one who knows every hair on our head. And with him by our side, we are never alone.
Pray
In Psalm 122, the psalmist sings:
“I rejoiced when they said to me: ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’”
When I feel alone or lost, let me always remember that verse,
God’s constant invitation to come and join him,
and let that simple two-letter word—“us”—be my consolation.
Act
Today, if you are feeling disconnected or alone, instead of isolating yourself, consider extending an invitation to a neighbor or coworker, a friend you have not seen for a while. Ask them to go for a walk with you, or to join you for a cup of tea or a glass of lemonade. Be the one who says hello first. Be the one who calls out: “Come!” And know the joy of becoming “us.”
