Even the most difficult of people need our love. While we may not be as successful in taming the wild beasts in others as Saint Francis was, we can still see them as God’s beloved children, with the same basic needs as ourselves.
Every morning I wake up with the words of Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
How might you shop with greater mindfulness, eat lower on the food chain, minimize your intake of meat, and explore ways to use more simply packaged foods?
When you feel attacked, before responding breathe deeply and center yourself. Discern what’s going on, and act and speak in ways that bring healing to the situation.
To the psalmist, everything from frost and hail to political leaders praises God. You are a member in God’s chorus of praise. Let your voice join the anthem of creation. What song or hymn captures the meaning of praise for you?
