In the rush and busyness of our lives, we sometimes forget that our prayers come from a truly holy source, and that we, too, are holy.
During the weeks of Lent, we embrace the sorrowful mystery of Christ’s death, knowing we are always journeying toward rebirth. Who in your life is feeling spring will never come to their hearts again?
Instead of fighting the mundane and boring today, flip it and see if you can find something sacred in the act, a deeper connection lurking underneath.
As you say a prayer for all those in distress today, open your heart as wide as you can. Let your prayer grow and grow, touching all the branches of our common tree.
Sleep is restorative when we get enough of it. But unfortunately, so often we don’t get the nightly rest we need.
There is a phenomenon—if there’s a scientific name, I don’t know of it—where the trees break and fall into one another’s arms. I’ve come to call these tree pietas.
