Love is willing and doing–willing and doing what is good for my neighbor and myself; willing and doing what God wants done for those he loves.
The invitation is indeed freely given by God, but it has to be properly accepted by those to whom it is addressed. Mere admission to the kingdom is no guarantee of staying in it.
Riches can distract from God, cut us off from others, and lead to a life of selfishness. Salvation of the rich can only come about by some kind of miracle, through the intervention of God.
Wealth and resources interfere with gaining eternal life. Giving away our resources has to be part of our Christian spirituality.
We cannot properly venerate the Blessed Mother without including Christ and the Church, nor rightly conceive of the Church without Mary.
