Reflect
In Exodus, God wouldn’t allow Moses to see his face—only his back. Father Richard Rohr suggests that we too can appreciate some experiences only afterward, not during. Then, we thought there was nothing to appreciate. But now we can see how that person, place or experience was exactly what we needed.
Pray
God, you care
for even the tiniest detail
in our days.
Maybe we were too busy to notice,
but looking back,
we see a treasure house.
You were there throughout.
Thank you especially
for this person or event of the past: ________________
Amen.

In your gratitude journal, record three specific things for which you are thankful—not just “food,” but “Dad’s baked ziti,” “a fresh blueberry muffin;” not just “music,” but your favorite song.
