Reflect
Our nation needs to embrace Black History more than ever this year. Let we of every race pray for the wisdom and humility to be lifelong learners so that our society can come closer to mirroring the Kingdom of Heaven.
Pray
Creator God who delights in differences,
We thank you for the way you formed and fashioned
the African Americans among us.
We thank you for their gifts and contributions,
for their witness and their prophetic voice.
We thank you for the Black artists, theologians, activists, scientists,
and others who have contributed profoundly to a society
that has failed to effectively thank and honor them for their work.
Give each one of us the humility to listen, learn,
and be corrected when needed.
Help our country become a place of equity.
Help us continue to correct the sins of the past.
Amen.
