Reflect
Driving often brings out the worst in us. We have things to get done and so little time to do them. Anything that slows us down can make us irritable.
Pray
Dear God, help me be a more patient, considerate driver.
After all, the man who won’t let me merge might be distracted
by a child crying in the back seat.
The driver who cut me off might be trying to get to the hospital
to say goodbye to a dying friend.
We are all on the road together, and just like on the journey of life
the trip goes so much more easily when we help each other along.
Amen.
Act
Practice patience and kindness on the road today. Don’t go over the speed limit and try to stay in one lane as much as you can. When someone is courteous to you, a simple wave sends the right message.
