Reflect
It has been said that courage is fear that has said its prayers. When we pray our fears, we discover that we are not alone. We discover that God is with us and that nothing can separate us from the love of God. We can act courageously—despite our fears—to make the world a better place.
Pray
Loving God,
I place my fear in your hands.
You know my strengths
just as you know my weakness.
Let me trust that when I go through the darkest valley
you are with me, surrounding me, empowering me,
guiding and strengthening me
so I can respond with courage
to bring justice, reconciliation, and love
to the world around me.
Amen.
Act
What situation needs your attention, despite your fears? Place your fears in God’s hands and ask God to give you courage. Then, with God’s guidance, respond wisely and bravely to difficult situations.
