Reflect
The world can be an argumentative place. Strong opinions abound, and our human pride makes us want to be right, be heard, and get in the last word. Even Jesus argued—but he did it gently and with the simple intention of teaching about God.
Pray
Dear Lord, help me be a gentle voice in a world of harsh ones.
Help me be compassionate and kind even in the midst of disagreement.
Help me voice my opinions calmly and respectfully—
and accept others’ opinions in the same way.
Help me remember that you are the only one who is truly “right.”
Amen.
Act
Keep a peaceful attitude during any emotionally charged conversations you may experience today, and resist the temptation to get in the last word.
