Reflect
Jesus came to earth, pitched his tent and dwelt among us. He knew every single human experience and emotion except sin. Most especially, Jesus knows what it is to suffer. His passion and death reveal to us that God can use anything—even the greatest evil and suffering—for a redemptive purpose.
Pray
Jesus,
you often reminded your disciples
that they would know suffering
in this life.
Teach me that
the suffering I will encounter
is never forgotten
or overlooked by you.
Draw me close
to your Sacred Heart,
and in that embrace,
give me hope and courage
amid the difficulties.
Act
Read the account of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane in the Gospel of Mark. Use your Christian imagination to place yourself in the scene, in the story, and see what Jesus has to say to you about it.
