Reflect
As a child, one of my favorite psalm refrains was, “The Lord Hears the Cry of the Poor.” The premise of the psalm is how God hears and comes to the need of those who are poor. The Lord does not forget—he draws near in time of need. He never forgets us.
Pray
Dear Jesus, you know what it is
to be poor and lowly in the world.
Taking on human skin, you took up our physical experience
of what it is to be human.
The cries of justice matter to your heart.
Help me as your son or daughter to pay attention
and take heed of the suffering of my brothers and sisters.
Act
Where is God calling me today to answer the cry of injustice in my local community?
