Reflect
According to the dictionary, the word equal means, “like for each member of a group, class, or society.” Equality is something that every individual deserves and seeks, simply because of their humanity. Unfortunately, it is not always reflected in society and daily life. There are those who feel as though they are on the peripheries. As members of the body of Christ, it is our duty to work with our brothers and sisters to ensure that all are welcome at the table.
Pray
Loving God, help us remember
that we are all created in your image,
making us more alike than different.
May we open our hearts to our brothers and sisters,
and strip away any preconceived notions
that we may have about them.
Act
Seek out a volunteer opportunity with an organization that works to achieve equality for a group of people who may feel marginalized. Check out our article on the work of Sister Anita Baird to protect equal voting rights.
