Reflect
The COVID-19 quarantine in much of the world invited us to look twice at what we took for granted: hugs, easy mobility, church and family gatherings, in-person conversations, sports, celebrations, travel, school, restaurants, concerts, graduations, movies. We’ve mourned many losses; we’ve longed to get out of the house; we’ve promised to appreciate blessings when they resumed—have we?
Pray
God who takes infinite care,
you knew that sometimes
it takes a pandemic
to make us thankful.
Let us not waste that experience,
or trivialize or regret it,
but draw on it
as from a rich well
of gratitude.
Amen.
Act
Remember one thing you missed during quarantine. Express your gratitude for it now—or be sure to experience it as soon as you can.
