Reflect
On a road trip recently, our car was one of many on the interstate. Countless people breezed past us on their hurried way, and I realized that, though I will never know them, we are connected. It’s easy to forget how close we really are.
Pray
God of love,
In this age of growing division,
I need to be reminded that we are
connected, linked, related.
We are not disparate factions,
but siblings of a loving parent.
Though our paths may not cross,
all paths eventually lead to the same place.
And that is a comfort to me:
Knowing that we need never feel alone.
We are one in you.
Amen.
Act
The next time you are at a park, a concert, a store, or a restaurant, say a quiet prayer for all the people you may never know. We are closer than you think.
