As men were randomly chosen to go to the starvation bunker at Auschwitz, Father Maximilian Kolbe stepped forward to take the place of a man with a wife and children. Two weeks later on the eve of the Assumption, Kolbe died from a lethal injection. His life reveals the love Jesus showed us to the end of his own life.

out of love for his neighbor.
Show me what it means
to die to self for the good of others.
