Given the year we’ve left behind, the new year simply must be better. Let us welcome it with our eyes affixed on the horizon.
Pray
Dear God,
Like the sunrise in the eastern skies,
the new year dawns before us.
I welcome this day, this year,
with an open heart.
Guide me to a place of peace,
where my mind is not
burdened with worry.
Ease me into this new year
and give me hope that
the year ahead of me is
brighter than the one behind me.
Amen.
