Reflect
In the story of the visitation, Mary goes to help and support her cousin, Elizabeth, preparing for a new baby. Likewise consider how Elizabeth helped support her younger cousin, who found herself in the most unique of life circumstances. Both Mary and Elizabeth accompanied each other in their time of need. As disciples, we are all called to that same art of accompaniment with each other. Who has accompanied me through my life? What did they do or what are they doing?
Pray
God of closeness, we are called to walk with
and accompany each other, just as Elizabeth and Mary
did for each other.
Teach us what it means to love our neighbor
and walk with them through all the circumstances of life.
Amen.
Act
What am I doing to accompany another through their journey?
