Reflect
The Psalmist says, “Be still and know that I am God!” (Ps 46:10). A variation of the Psalmist’s wisdom is: “Pause awhile and know that I am God.” We need—with St. Francis of Assisi—to rejoice in Brother and Sister deer, firefly, cardinal, and morning sun.
Pray
Teach me, God of All Creation,
to pause and notice,
to be changed by what I observe,
to feel kinship with all creatures,
and let the wonder of your world inspire,
delight, and enliven me.
Let my kinship with all life
challenge me to protect the vulnerable—
human and nonhuman—and speak for the voiceless.
Act
Pause throughout the day to notice beauty all around you. Let each moment be an epiphany.
