Reflect
“…by paths they do not know I will guide them…” Isaiah 42:16
Quite often it is the unknown that we fear most. Many of us imagine we can bear almost anything if we know what to expect. But that isn’t how God works. And often it isn’t how life works either. But God’s wisdom is not our wisdom, and God’s ways are not our ways. When we feel anxious or disappointed by some turn that life has taken, we must remember that trusting in God’s love is always the path to follow.
Pray
Lord,
Give me peace today as I prepare to face
whatever the day may bring.
Whether I am struggling with a difficult
decision or simply feeling a little lost, let me rest in
your love and trust that you will always lead me home.
Act
This week, say yes to something unexpected. If a coworker invites you to lunch, say yes. If your child asks you for help with homework—say yes. Offer that yes as your prayer and trust the Lord to lead you by paths unknown (and sometimes quite unexpected).
