Reflect
In Genesis 32:24–32, Jacob wrestles all night long with God. Unwilling to let go, Jacob says he will not stop until he receives a blessing. Sometimes we think wrestling with God or ideas about faith are bad. However, wrestling with God like Jacob did actually leads to deeper intimacy with him.
Pray
God of history, you always interact with your children in personal ways.
Sometimes in life, I wrestle with you just like Jacob.
Pour your blessing on me so I become more like Jesus.
May I remember that bringing my questions, fears, and uncertainties
never turns you off to me.
Amen.
