Reflect
We’re troubled, sometimes even haunted, by the past—things we’ve done, didn’t do, or wish we had done differently. Begin today thinking of the words of Mother Teresa, “Do not let the past disturb you, just leave everything in the Sacred Heart and begin again in joy.” Perhaps letting go opens an avenue to loving someone that wasn’t there before.
Pray
How beautiful to envision the past within the Sacred Heart,
so I no longer have to carry it. It’s heavy!
Instead of sifting through all the life-changing hurts in my mind,
let me let go of it all.
Today I can say “yes” to the invitation, as if to a spur-of-the-moment party,
to begin again, to begin again—in joy.
Act
Imagine putting some part of your past that you feel is still not resolved in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, where you can truly let it go. If you feel just a bit lighter, celebrate it.
