Daily Reading from the USCCB: Hebrews 10:19-25
The author of Hebrews has been reflecting on the priesthood and the sacrifice of Christ. Now he draws some conclusions.
Believers have direct and confident access to God through Jesus the new high priest. They should approach God with faith, taking comfort in the awareness that their sins have been forgiven in baptism. All this is a source of hope which should lead them to encourage one another in Christian love and lead them to remain active in the Christian community.
Christ remains our high priest. He has forgiven our sins and offers us eternal life. Like the early Christians, we are called to maintain contact with Jesus through participation in the life of the Christian community. How is the Christian community important to me?
