Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles
June 29, 2021
Daily Reading from the USCCB: Acts 12:1-11
Today is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. Each of them had his particular personality. Each was called by God for specific roles in the young Church. Each had his own relationship with the Lord Jesus. Each enjoyed God’s protection in carrying out their calling.
Each of us somehow mirrors the life of Peter and Paul. We may not have experienced miraculous deliverance from imprisonment. We may not be gifted with gospel eloquence. But we have our own talents that God uses for his own purposes.
We are all called to reverence Saints Peter and Paul, and to respect the talents of all our brothers and sisters in Christ. Thanks, Lord, for Saints Peter and Paul. Thanks for all who serve you in the Church.
