Daily Reading from the USCCB: 2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12
The letters to Timothy are about organizing and governing the church communities entrusted to Timothy’s care. It is not clear whether they were written personally by St. Paul or whether they are the work of others written in Paul’s name. In any case, they are important reflections of the life of the early Church.
The author begins by expressing his gratitude for the ministry that he has received from God. There have been sufferings connected with the work of Timothy and Paul but Paul is confident that God will continue to guard the gifts entrusted to them. Their ministry will continue to grow and flourish until God’s plans are brought to completion.
God has plans for us all. We have all been strengthened by God.
