Sharing the Word for November 28, 2022 – First Week of Advent – Year 1

Monday of the First Week of Advent

November 28, 2022
Daily Reading from the USCCB: Isaiah 4:2-6

We enter the season of Advent with readings from Isaiah–the most prolific of the prophets of the Old Testament, the great proclaimer of the coming of the salvation of the Lord.

God’s plans are to come to set things right–to bring all creation to fulfillment. God intends to purify and sanctify his people. He wants to bring them into the final glory of his heavenly city.

If we are to collaborate with God’s will, we have to pay attention to his plans. He intends that his glory be shelter and protection for us all–shade from the heat of day, refuge and cover from storm and rain. That’s what God wants. That’s what we look forward to as we begin another Church year.
